About Us
It started with a mom. Rea Berg knew she wanted something different for her children's education. She knew that childhood is short, and that this brief window is our greatest opportunity to nurture connections with our kids and lay the foundation for a lifelong love of learning. So Rea decided to put her degree in children's literature to use and began building literature-based history curriculums for her family. It wasn't long before her friends were asking for copies of her curriculums... And the rest is, well, history.

Meet Josh Berg
Josh joined BFB full-time in 2013 and then acquired his parents' business in 2019. As a former homeschool student and now a father of four homeschooled children, he brings a deep and personal understanding of the homeschool journey to his role as CEO. With a passion for equipping and empowering parents, he is dedicated to creating curriculum that nurtures lifelong learning and brings families closer together.

Our History
Founded in 1984, Beautiful Feet Books was created to bring history to life for homeschoolers through rich, story-based learning. Inspired by Charlotte Mason’s philosophy, we offer literature-driven curriculum, teacher guides, and curated book packs that make subjects like history, science, and literature engaging and meaningful. Still family-owned, our mission is to support parents in creating joyful, thoughtful learning experiences without busywork.

Rebecca Manor
Homeschool graduate with a passion for story and art. She holds an MA in Christianity and Classics and teaches as an adjunct professor at Knox Theological Seminary. Rebecca aims to make learning history, literature, and science accessible and joyful.

Rea Berg
Enjoys gardening, yoga, reading and restoring abandoned things, especially classic children's books and lives, such as those of men she works with at her local prison. She has reprinted many classic children’s books and holds degrees in English and children’s literature.

Tami Kruse
Embraced the German concept of Schullandheim ("School-Nature-Home") while living in Bavaria and teaching her nine children. Tami teaches nature-based biology classes in Colorado Springs, holds a B.S. in biology from Pepperdine University, published research at Stanford, and is the Science Contributor for Wildflowers Magazine.

Becca Allen
Graduate of TCU and Knox Theological Seminary, with a deep passion for literature, history, and language. Fun Fact: If given a million dollars, Rebecca would buy a flat in Edinburgh and embark on a three-year world cruise!

Jonathan Crabtree
With a background in political science, German, and educational psychology, taught for eight years in charter schools in Los Angeles and San Jose. He now works in business development at Subsplash, a software company for churches and ministries.
Meet Our Team

Madilynn Callihan
Loves the amazing people she gets to collaborate with in BF Books. Fun Fact: Madilynn’s “old person” habit is being in bed by 9 p.m. and Googling new phrases or words if she’s still awake!

Janet Gilbert
Passionate about fostering growth through curiosity and hard work, using her formula of "Big Curiosity + 'Why not?' = Growth" to inspire those around her. Fun Fact: If a book were written about Janet, it would be titled Start by Pretending You Can: Circumstances Change but a Good Formula Gets You Where You Need to Go.

Courtney Hermosillo
Central Coast native, easygoing, people-loving, and always up for some kind of outdoor adventure or sport. Whether she’s listening to her favorite audiobook or bringing energy to a team, she’s all about connection, fun, and staying active.

Scott Morrell
Keeps things running smoothly (and strategically) at Beautiful Feet Books as he polishes all things related to operations. When he's not orchestrating growth in the office, he's directing plays—turning teamwork and creativity into standing ovations, on stage and off.

Ryan Wensloff
Has been with BF Books since 2017 and is passionate about helping homeschoolers reach their potential. Fun Fact: Ryan admits he’s a fan of Carly Simon and Shania Twain, and he would love to read Prince Caspian, The Fellowship of the Ring, and The Transall Saga again for the first time.

Courage
Homeschooling takes courage. It means stepping away from the familiar to choose a different, intentional path. We’re proud to walk this bold journey with you.

Optimism
Optimism is the heart of the homeschooling journey. It's the belief that challenges can be overcome and that learning can be joyful. It's the belief in our children's potential and in our own ability to teach them.

Open-Handedness
We believe in living and working with open hands. That means sharing our knowledge generously, and remaining willing to grow, change, and learn alongside the families we serve.

Wisdom
40 years of creating curriculums has equipped us with a hard-earned wisdom about homeschool, education, and parenting that guides the way we design our curriculums and support you.
