Beautiful Feet Books' Anthology of Medieval Literature traces the development of thought and culture in Europe from the fourth century up through the 1600s. Beginning with writings from the early church father, students will trace medieval culture from the beginnings of Christendom to the Age of Exploration and the Reformation. Selections from major works such as Le Morte d'Arthur, The Song of Rowland, The Travels of Marco Polo, and The Divine Comedy are included along with poems, creeds, hymns, and selections from medieval thinkers like St. Francis of Assisi, Thomas Aquinas, Martil Luther, Machiavelli, and Galileo. For use with Beautiful Feet Books' Medieval History: A Literature Approach for High School teacher guide, this anthology will provide high school-level students with an introductory survey of some of the greatest literature of western civilization.
