Introduce your K-4 student to world geography and culture through delightful children's picture books in this engaging homeschool study. Along with award-winning literature, this course weaves together nature study, folktales, fables, music, art, poetry, and history, with gentle Socratic questions designed to spark discussion and discovery.

This study takes students through Asia, Africa, Australia, and Antarctica. In Asia, children explore China, Japan, Thailand, and India. In Africa, they visit Morocco, Egypt, Kenya, Tanzania, and Ghana, discovering the unique cultures, traditions, and landscapes of each region. Country maps and flags invite students to color, cut out, and journal about what they're learning along the way.

Beautiful animal illustrations introduce indigenous species and habitats, cultivating respect and wonder for the natural world. Each chapter closes with a foray into the country's cuisine, complete with recipes, photos, and links that bring global flavors to life for a memorable, hands-on learning experience.

Every chapter also includes Library Connections and History and Biography suggestions, so parents can expand or adapt the study as they see fit. With seventy lessons total, this study fits a semester at four lessons per week or a full year at two lessons per week, making it a flexible, story-rich resource for building global awareness at your family's own pace.

This study is a companion to Around the World with Picture Books, Part 2, which covers Europe and South America. The two studies can be completed in either order.
