This guide and the books that accompany the study make studying history engaging and very doable, too. It is perfect for jr. high level, but could easily be adapted for younger, and even slightly older students. Recommend!

I used this with my 9th grade son. This was our first time using a BF guide. We really enjoyed it! He moved kind of slowly when he read on his own, but when I read to him, he seemed to comprehend it better. This was really his first exposure to these types of books, so I think that was to be expected. He really enjoyed learning History this way. The guide includes lots of movie and extra literature tie-ins, but we didn't have time for any of those.

My 8th grader completed this course a few weeks ago. She reallyl enjoyed the study and found it to be just the right amount of work. She was able to do most of the work independently which we both really liked. She is looking forward to starting high school in the fall with Beautiful Feet.

I used this guide with my 7th grader last year. He learned a lot and enjoyed the study. In fact, at the end of the school year, this was the first course we could mark "Complete!" The books used in the course are interesting, informative, and appropriate. The questions guided him through the information well. I appreciated the essay assignments throughout. We were working on essay-writing, so we used some of those questions to turn into full-length formal essays--about one a month. This course gets a big thumbs-up from this homeschool mom. It was easy to plan and implement and my son loved it, so no complaints!

I really enjoyed this guide. I was able to work independently and I loved the Genevieve Foster books. Furthermore, I was able to incorporate the writing prompts into my writing program and the questions were well thought out. I would definitely recommend this to anybody.
