Our Process
Four decades of experience have taught us a thing or two about creating curriculum that works. Here’s how we do it.
This inspiring biography tells the story of Johann Gutenberg, the inventor of the printing press and the man behind the first printed Bible. Facing tremendous hardship and personal sacrifice, Gutenberg pursued his dream of movable type, changing the world by making books accessible to all. A compelling introduction to a revolutionary figure whose work transformed learning and communication.
Life story of the man who developed the first printing press and was responsible for printing the Gutenberg Bible. This story relates the tremendous hardship that Gutenberg overcame to fulfill his dream of moveable type, the sacrifice and price he paid.
From Children's Literature: Before Johann Gutenberg perfected movable type, the printing press, and oil-based ink, manuscripts-illuminated or otherwise- were acquired only by those who could afford the one-of-a-kind works of art. Gutenberg made possible a book's quick and inexpensive mass production. From what little is known about the inventor, Joann Johansen Burch has written Fine Print to introduce children to the 15th century man whose ingenuity eventually made books a part of almost everyone's daily life. Her account of the printer and the people and circumstances that influenced him is a good read.
