Introduce your student to the vibrant geography and diverse ecosystems of the United States with this engaging U.S. geography teacher guide for Kindergarten through 3rd grade. This early elementary resource blends meaningful lessons, colorful maps, and hands-on activities to build foundational geography and social studies skills through real-world exploration.

This guide supports parents in using living books that help children connect emotionally and intellectually with people and places across the country. Students will meet a grandma who hiked the Appalachian Trail, a family traveling west in a covered wagon with fruit trees, Pony Express riders, and a boy from New York City adjusting to life in New Mexico. These stories nurture character, curiosity, and sympathy as students learn about regional customs, landscapes, and ways of life from coast to coast.

While exploring each U.S. region, young learners build essential map skills and geography concepts. Cultural exploration is woven throughout, including regional recipes, national parks, and monuments. Field trip ideas encourage real-world learning.

Flexible instructions and optional activities help parents tailor lessons and pacing to their child’s individual needs.

Love this curriculum just as much as we’ve loved

Love this curriculum just as much as we’ve loved the other guides we’ve bought from Beautiful Feett

Exactly what we were looking for!!!

My son was so excited we started the day it came in the mail. I love how it is literature based, not scripted, and easy to add onto. I appreciate the convenience of the books and main points being laid out there. The activities and recipes are great. None of this is overwhelming. I also purchased the seasons afield. We are looking forward to that and getting history in the future.

My son looks forward to Geography day every week. Some weeks we split it into a few days, and some weeks we devote an entire day to this subject as it easily includes, writing, history, reading, art and more. My son loves it and I do as well! I highly recommend!

My 5 and 8 year old have really enjoyed learning geography using this curriculum. Using the map to color the states that the stories are about is what my kids' favorite part is. It helps them "see" where the stories are taking place. We do not do the state books because my kids aren't interested in facts about each state, instead we watch videos about each state during lunch. This subject has been our favorite this year.

Our family does multiple BFB studies each year for the various ages of our children. We've used this company for years and will continue to do so - we LOVE BFB!! That being said, this one is really lacking compared to the others we've used. It is FULL of busy work, very light on literature and information on the states, and overall lacking. I have found myself having to do extensive planning beyond the guide to make this meaningful and impactful for my kids. It's taken us two years to get through it because I just don't want to do the work to make it work - I feel like it was a waste of money based on how much extra I'm having to pull in to add to it. The Our 50 States book is so busy and overstimulating - how you even use this as a read aloud is beyond me! The state pages are purely busy work. There is nothing meaningful to connect them to what you're learning...honestly this guide seems rushed and thrown together. If you're expecting something more along the lines of their Around the World in Picture Books, this is NOT it. You'll be very disappointed.
