This award-winning homeschool geography unit study is a literature-based study designed to bring geography to life for children. Featuring four iconic Holling C. Holling books—Minn of the Mississippi, Paddle to the Sea, Tree in the Trail, and Seabird—this unit study offers a comprehensive exploration of the Great Lakes, Eastern Seaboard, and Mississippi River regions, along with national landmarks, indigenous animals, natural science, cultures, and industries. Students will learn 30 states and their capitals, and gain a broader introduction to world geography through Seabird's exploration of the world's continents and oceans. Designed for 3rd through 7th grade students, this unit study is perfect for both elementary and middle school learners.
Now completely revised and expanded, this guide is presented in full color and features new comprehension questions, vocabulary, activities, an answer key, and updated website links. One of Beautiful Feet Books' most popular studies just got even better.
The guide helps maximize the impact of these stories with comprehension questions, discussion prompts, hands-on activities, and vocabulary words. Each lesson encourages exploration and learning through literature, making geography both engaging and memorable. This curriculum also touches on history and science along the way.
This teacher guide is designed to be used alongside four specially designed 18" x 24" maps (sold separately) for coloring and labeling.
This geography unit study is the perfect way to combine reading, mapping, and exploration of the world, all while developing an understanding of geography in a hands-on and meaningful way.
