Our Process
Four decades of experience have taught us a thing or two about creating curriculum that works. Here’s how we do it.
Follow Minn, a snapping turtle, as she journeys down the Mississippi River and introduces readers to the rich history and culture of the river valley—from bayous and steamboats to explorers, floods, and Mark Twain himself.
The history of the Mississippi River Valley is told through the adventures of Minn, a snapping turtle, as she travels hundreds of miles downstream. The fascinating world of the river; bayou's, steamboats, river pirates, flatboats and keelboats, French and Spanish explorers, plantations, floods, and Mark Twain is all here excitingly related.

Amazing
Another outstanding Holling Clancy Holling book that ties a compelling story to side-notes that give detailed drawing and descriptions of easy to understand topics ranging from egg lifecycles to how systems are engineered. This is an ideal book for children to read to their parents to stimulate discussion. In many cases the parents will learn as much as the child. It is the one series that has stimulated my son to read.
Didn't love this one, it didn't work nearly as well as the others in this collection for geography study. The chapters were very long, also!(Christian reviewer - I wasn't offended by anything in this book (referring to above review re: evolution))
Beware, this book teaches evolution (pages 8 & 22). It also describes an animal's God given ability to procreate as the animals cells obeying a magical, mysterious order (page 10). If your teaching your children a Biblical worldview, you'll have to explain the problems with this book.
I think you need a vocabulary page!
